Charles Bradshaw is a Professor and Dean in the Faculty of Arts and Letters at Brigham Young University–Hawaii, where he has been employed since 2019. He previously served as an Associate Professor (2019-2022) and Assistant Professor (2002-2019) at the University of Tennessee at Martin.

His research focuses on Early American Literature, particularly works by Mark Twain and Charles Brockden Brown, examining themes of conspiracy theories, animal welfare, EcoGothic, and cultural discourse. He has edited Mark Twain's A Horse's Tale and explored intersections of political unrest, literary aesthetics, and social responsibility.
Scientific Awards include the 2017 UT-Martin Research Travel Grant, 2015 Phi Kappa Phi Faculty Induction, 2012 Reagan Faculty Leave, 2008 Coffee Outstanding Teaching Award, and 2006 Outstanding Junior Faculty. His publications span scholarly editions, journal articles, encyclopedia entries, and book reviews addressing topics from eco-criticism to historical conspiracies.
