Charles Boncelet is a Professor at the University of Delaware's Department of Computer and Information Sciences. His research focuses on image/signal processing, data compression, information security, and steganography/steganalysis. He has developed novel filtering methods, quadtree compression techniques, and watermarking algorithms. Recently, his work includes error-tolerant message authentication codes and steganalysis methods for detecting hidden multimedia data.
He holds a joint appointment and is affiliated with IEEE, SIAM, ASEE, and the Delaware Academy of Science. Previously, he served as President of the University of Delaware Faculty Senate. Boncelet also acts as an expert witness in patent litigation involving signal processing and wireless communications.
