Dr. Charalambos Marangos is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Lehigh University. He has been affiliated with Lehigh since 2007 as adjunct faculty and holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the same institution (2003). His expertise bridges academia and industry through roles such as senior fellow at Lehigh’s Enterprise Systems Center and former Associate Director of the NSF-funded Center for Engineering Logistics and Distribution (CELDi).
Dr. Marangos has over two decades of industry experience as a project engineer and consultant in pharmaceutical, petrochemical, and aluminum recycling sectors, specializing in manufacturing, information systems, and operations research. He actively mentors students in capstone projects, emphasizing real-world applications of industrial engineering principles.
His research focuses on Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, and supply chain optimization. Notable contributions include stochastic supplier selection models, agile enterprise frameworks, and scheduling algorithms. His work integrates predictive maintenance analytics and big data methodologies to solve complex industrial challenges.
While no formal awards are cited, his extensive collaboration with industry partners and academic leadership in CELDi highlight his impact. He advises capstone teams and has contributed to projects addressing enterprise agility and logistics distribution challenges.
