Chaoxing Liu is a Professor of Physics at the Department of Physics, Pennsylvania State University, affiliated with the Eberly College of Science. His research focuses on theoretical condensed matter physics, including topological insulators, superconductivity, spintronics, and quantum transport phenomena. He holds a B.S. in Fundamental Science (2003) and a Ph.D. in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics (2009) from Tsinghua University.
Research highlights include studies on moiré superlattice materials, symmetry-protected topological states, and unconventional superconductivity. His work has explored quantum anomalous Hall effects, topological phases in layered materials, and Dirac/Weyl semimetals. Publications span high-impact journals like Physical Review Letters and Nature Communications.
Dr. Liu has held postdoctoral fellowships (Alexander von Humboldt, 2009–2011) and visiting researcher positions at Stanford University (2007–2008) and Hong Kong University (2006). His lab investigates cutting-edge topics such as topological superconductivity and electronic phase engineering in novel materials systems.
