Dr. Chao Zheng is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Toronto, with a cross-appointment at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). He leads the Zheng Research Group, focused on radiopharmaceutical development for neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders. His expertise spans medicinal chemistry, radiochemistry, and PET imaging.
Education: PhD in Organic Chemistry from Peking University; BSc in Chemistry from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). Postdoctoral training at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School (molecular imaging) and Yale University (PET neuroimaging).
Research emphasizes radiopharmaceutical discovery and PET neuroimaging techniques to study brain disorders. His lab integrates radiochemistry, pharmacology, and neuroscience to develop diagnostic tools and assess treatments. The group currently accepts students (MSc/PhD) and postdoctoral fellows.
