Channa Boon

Channa Boon is a lecturer at the Royal Academy of Art The Hague (KABK) within the Bachelor Fine Arts program. Trained as a painter, her studio practice spans films, installations, drawings, performances, and objects, often interconnected or existing as standalone works.

Her research explores a trans-disciplinary approach, linking embodied knowledge systems to examine the intersection of body, space, landscape, sound, and communities. This includes a philosophical engagement with Karen Barad's concept of the thick present, reinterpreted through her 'Acoustic Body' framework—highlighting subtle energy exchanges between humans, environments, and objects via sub-acoustic vibrations.

Boon's work has been exhibited globally, including at the 56th Venice Biennale, EYE Film Museum Amsterdam, and Total Museum of Contemporary Art Seoul. She co-founded artists' spaces LUXUS and Helicopter in The Hague, Netherlands.
