Associate Professor Changxin Cynthia Wang is a faculty member at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Faculty of Built Environment, where she has been conducting research since 2011. Her work focuses on information and knowledge management in the Architecture Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry, with particular expertise in Building Information Modelling (BIM) applications.

Dr. Wang's research spans multiple critical areas in construction management and sustainable development. She specializes in applying advanced Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to improve efficiency and sustainability of prefabricated construction. Her work integrates BIM and digital twin technologies to achieve net-zero carbon emissions throughout building life cycles. She develops rapid 3D digital twin city modeling from point cloud data and conducts research on empowering women in construction and construction health and safety. Her research bridges theoretical knowledge with practical applications in the construction industry.
Scientific Awards:
- 2021 Best Paper Award in the International Conference of Digital and Empathic Engagement in the New Era for Architecture and Civil Engineering for paper entitled 'Empowering female students to be successful professionals in the construction industry'
- 2019 UNSW Faculty of Built Environment - Learning and Teaching Excellence Award
Dr. Wang has secured significant research funding including a 2022-2026 Australian Government Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet grant of $2,311,000 for 'Attracting, Retaining and Empowering Women in Construction' and multiple other grants totaling over $2.5 million in the past decade. As an educator, she teaches undergraduate courses including Construction Scheduling Techniques and Construction Organizational Behaviour, and postgraduate courses including Construction Planning and Control.
She maintains active professional engagement as a member of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and has published 6 book chapters, 66 journal articles, and 41 conference papers throughout her career.
