Changhua Mu

Changhua Mu is an Assistant Professional Researcher at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging. His research focuses on developing advanced molecular imaging techniques and nanomedicine approaches for cancer diagnosis and therapy, with particular expertise in hyperpolarized MRI and PET imaging technologies.

His work particularly emphasizes the development of hyperpolarized carbon-13 MRI techniques for real-time metabolic imaging and targeted nanocarrier systems for enhanced drug delivery and imaging capabilities.

His recent work includes the development of StarPEG nanocarriers for PSMA-targeted prostate cancer imaging and therapy, hyperpolarized 13C-bicarbonate pH imaging for aggressive tumor characterization, and simultaneous perfusion-metabolic imaging protocols using advanced MRI acquisition techniques. These innovations bridge the gap between basic research and clinical translation, offering new paradigms for personalized cancer management.

Scientific Contributions: Dr. Mu has made significant contributions to advancing open-source software frameworks for MRI pulse sequence development, particularly through the Pulseq framework.
