Chang Liu is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Ohio University's Russ College of Engineering and Technology. He is affiliated with the Center for Scientific Computing and Immersive Technologies. His research focuses on applying software engineering big data to developer knowledge and integrating software principles into healthcare and educational technologies. He earned his Ph.D. in Information and Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine in 2002.
Research interests include software engineering, mobile health applications, and 3D immersive learning tools. Notable projects include the VIADS visual analytic tool for clinical hypothesis generation and a VR app for Mal de Debarquement syndrome treatment. His work spans wearable health devices, quantum algorithm verification, and pediatric risk stratification using deep learning.
