Chandler S Cortina

Dr. Chandler S Cortina is an Associate Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin, affiliated with Froedtert Hospital and Clinical Cancer Center. He specializes in Breast Surgical Oncology, focusing on malignant and benign breast diseases. His clinical practice emphasizes personalized, cutting-edge care through multidisciplinary collaboration.

Dr. Cortina holds an MD from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (2013), a General Surgery residency at Rush University Medical Center (2018), and a Breast Surgical Oncology fellowship at Northwestern University (2019). He also earned an MS in Clinical Research Methods from the Medical College of Wisconsin (2021).

His research explores breast cancer outcomes in transgender/gender-diverse populations, axillary management trends, and disparities in older adults. He investigates how gender-affirming care interacts with cancer risk and screening practices. Key areas include breast cancer subtypes, neoadjuvant therapies, and lymph node evaluation accuracy.
