Chandan Guha

Chandan Guha, M.B.,B.S., Ph.D., is a Professor in the Departments of Radiation Oncology, Pathology, and Urology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He holds leadership roles as the Vice Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology and the Associate Director for Innovation/Tech Transfer at the Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center, in addition to holding the Harry Eagle Chair in Cancer Research. His research focuses on stem cell-based therapies for radiation injury, hepatocyte transplantation, and cancer immunotherapy. Guha's work targets acute radiation syndrome (ARS), gastrointestinal syndrome (RIGS), and liver disease, with a particular emphasis on leveraging radiation's immunogenic properties to enhance cancer treatments. He leads the Rad-Stem CMCR program, developing medical countermeasures against radiation injuries. His research combines cell replacement therapies, growth factors, and immunotherapeutic strategies to address unmet clinical needs in oncology and regenerative medicine.

Guha earned his medical degree and Ph.D. from Calcutta University and completed residency at Montefiore Medical Center and Washington University School of Medicine. His professional interests include exploring stem cell regeneration post-radiation insult and the synergistic effects of radiation with vaccines and targeted therapies.
