Chadwick Menning

Chadwick Menning serves as Department Chair and Professor of Sociology at Ball State University's Department of Sociology, housed within the College of Sciences & Humanities. He joined the university in 2003 after earning his PhD in Sociology from Indiana University, alongside a MA from Indiana University and a BA from Arizona State University.

His research focuses on family dynamics, social inequality, and quantitative/qualitative methodologies. Key areas of study include sexual assault prevention, family structure impacts on adolescent behavior, and risk reduction strategies. Dr. Menning teaches courses on family sociology, social inequality, and graduate-level research methods.

He developed the Elemental sexual assault prevention program and advises the Ball State Martial Arts Club. His work bridges applied sociology with community engagement, emphasizing experiential learning and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Publications span journals like Journal of Interpersonal Violence, Journal of Family Issues, and Journal of Health and Social Behavior, reflecting his commitment to addressing societal inequities and improving public health through research.
