Chad Nihranz serves as an Assistant Professor in the Biology Department at Ithaca College. His office is located in room 167 of the Center for Natural Sciences, and he can be contacted via email at cnihranz@ithaca.edu. Dr. Nihranz teaches undergraduate courses including BIOL-12000: Fundamentals of Biology: Ecology and Evolution in the Fall 2025 semester, as well as previously teaching courses on plants, people, and food production and fundamentals of biology labs.
Dr. Nihranz's research specialty lies in chemical ecology and plant-insect interactions. He investigates the chemical signals that plants use to communicate with insects, which has implications for understanding ecosystem dynamics and developing sustainable agricultural practices. His work bridges the fields of ecology, entomology, and plant science, contributing to the broader understanding of species interactions in natural environments.
