Dr. Chad Carlson is a Professor of Neurology and Interim Chair of the Department of Neurology at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). He holds leadership roles including Vice Chair for Education and Program Director for Neurology Residency and Epilepsy Fellowship. His clinical expertise focuses on epilepsy, electroencephalography (EEG), and neurophysiology. Dr. Carlson completed his MD at the University of Wisconsin, followed by residency at the University of Iowa and fellowships in Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy at New York University.
His research spans epilepsy surgery outcomes, neuroimaging techniques for language mapping, and medical education innovation. Notable contributions include studies on tuberous sclerosis complex, seizure prediction via EEG, and the application of virtual reality in neurology training. He has authored over 150 peer-reviewed articles and serves on editorial boards of journals like Epilepsy Currents and Epilepsia.
