Prof. Dr. Cengiz Erişen is a full-time Professor at Yeditepe University's Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Political Science and International Relations. His work spans political psychology, emotional influences on political behavior, and comparative political movements.
- PhD in Political Science from State University of New York at Stony Brook (2009)
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Marmara University (2001)
His research focuses on emotional contagion, political decision-making, and immigration attitudes. Current projects examine digital diplomacy, misinformation countering, and social networks' impact on political cognition. Collaborative work spans Turkey, the EU, and the U.S.
Scientific awards include the Distinguished Junior Scholar Award (APSA), GEBİP (TÜBA), and BAGEP (Bilim Akademisi). He has led multiple international grants totaling over $60,000, including EU integration studies and psychological analyses of conspiracy theories.
