Celeska Maja is a Researcher at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University “St. Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje, North Macedonia. She has held roles as a Teaching and Research Associate since 2014 and previously as a Research Associate from 2011–2014. Her academic journey includes a PhD (2014) and MSc (2014) from the same faculty, focusing on wind farm layout optimization and power system modeling.
Education:
- PhD: Method improvement for wind farm layout optimization using evolutionary algorithms
- MSc: Methodology for optimizing wind field layouts in terms of generators and turbines
- BSc: Optimal operation modeling of sources in complex power systems
Research interests span renewable energy systems, power systems optimization, environmental engineering, and smart grids. Her work emphasizes energy forecasting, green infrastructure impact analysis, and sustainable energy solutions. She has contributed to studies on air quality in Skopje and the viability of small wind turbines.
Publications highlight trends in virtual power plant performance, air pollution prediction using LASSO modeling, and low-cost air quality monitoring systems. She is an active member of IEEE, including roles as Section Chair for the IEEE Student Branch and Young Professionals Affinity Group. She also serves as Secretary of the Study Committee A1 on Rotating Electrical Machines.
