Ceila Cardoso is an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Architecture of the Federal University of Bahia (FAUFBA), Brazil. She holds a PhD in Conservation and Restoration from FAUFBA (2014) and a postdoctoral degree from Delft University of Technology (2019), focusing on adaptive reuse of industrial and prefab buildings. Her roles include teaching Design Studio, Architectural Theory/History, and Final Graduation Design Studio. She leads the FABER research group (Architecture, Construction, Technology, and Heritage) and participates in the COMMON PLACE group, emphasizing design, heritage, and architecture criticism.
Education: MSc from University of São Paulo (2004), BArch from FAUFBA (2000).
Research interests include industrial heritage, prefabrication in architecture, adaptive reuse of modern buildings, and social technology in architectural design. She advocates for preserving João Filgueiras Lima's FAEC-era schools in Salvador through initiatives like ACCS-Prefabrication.
Active in conferences, she presented at DOCOMOMO International and other events on topics like industrial heritage and sustainable design. Engaged in sessions on planning instruments for heritage reuse and global industrial heritage reinterpretation.
