Cees Buisman

Cees Buisman is a WIMEK Personal Professor in Biological Recovery & Re-use Technology at Wageningen University & Research. His research focuses on innovative waste treatment technologies, including anaerobic digestion, bioreactor engineering, and resource recovery from organic waste streams. He specializes in optimizing microbial processes for sulfur, phosphorus, and carbon recovery systems. Recent work emphasizes biogas purification, CO₂ utilization for methane production, and sustainable manure management.
