Cecilia Tsu is Associate Professor of History at UC Davis, specializing in Asian American history, immigration, and California's agricultural development. Her award-winning book Garden of the World (2013) examines Asian immigrants' transformative role in Santa Clara Valley agriculture. Current NSF-funded project analyzes Hmong refugee resettlement policy's intersection with modern conservatism.

Research: Explores race, ethnicity, and agrarian change through comparative immigrant histories (Chinese, Japanese, Filipino) and Southeast Asian refugee studies. Current book project Starting Over investigates Hmong resettlement politics (1975-2000) and refugee community gardening.
Teaching: Offers courses on U.S. history post-1865, immigration (HIS 173), Asian American history (HIS 179), California history (HIS 189), and community-engaged learning through Yolo County historical research.
Service: Faculty advisor for California History-Social Science Project, enhancing K-12 history pedagogy. Supports public history initiatives documenting diverse Californian experiences.
