Cecilia Tran

Cecilia Tran is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Occupational Therapy at the University of Southern California (USC), affiliated with Keck Hospital of USC. She holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Psychology & Social Behavior and Sociology from the University of California, Irvine, and advanced degrees from USC: a Master of Arts in Occupational Therapy (2017) and a Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (OTD, 2018). Her clinical and research expertise spans occupational therapy in primary care, chronic disease management, and sensory processing challenges in ASD. She is board-certified in Physical Rehabilitation by the American Occupational Therapy Association.

Her research focuses on translational interventions to improve daily life for individuals with chronic conditions and neurodevelopmental disorders. Key projects include the TRUST initiative (Transforming Research: Understanding Sensory Experiences in ASD), which engages stakeholders in addressing sensory challenges, and contributions to the Cancer Survivorship, Health, and Life Transitions (C-SHIFT) lab’s work on health behavior adherence in cancer survivors. She collaborates with organizations like Autism Speaks and Harbor Regional Center to advance patient-centered care.

Dr. Tran’s academic contributions include developing community-based programs for healthy living and advocating for equitable healthcare access. Her clinical work integrates evidence-based practices across inpatient, skilled nursing, and acute rehabilitation settings.
