Dr. Cecilia Sayad is a Senior Lecturer in Film at the University of Kent and a member of the Centre for Film and Media Research. She holds a PhD in Cinema Studies from New York University, with prior teaching experience at NYU, Vassar College, and the University of Chicago. Her research focuses on horror film, authorship, and criticism, particularly exploring how horror intersects with reality through mock found-footage and ghost-hunting media. She has published extensively on topics including film authorship performance, digital technology's impact on cinematic reality, and Latin American cinema.
