Ceci Roberta

Ceci Roberta is an Associate Professor in the Department of Human and Health Sports Sciences at the University of Rome "Foro Italico". Her academic work focuses on the intersection of biochemistry, exercise science, and sports medicine, with particular emphasis on cellular responses to physical activity and oxidative stress.

Her research interests center around cellular and molecular responses to exercise, particularly focusing on:

• Cell differentiation and mechanisms of cellular differentiation
• Exercise and the endocannabinoid system
• Polyamine metabolism in muscle differentiation
• Cellular response to oxidative stress
• Role of spermine oxidase in skeletal muscle
• Ergogenic effects of supplementation in sport
• Search for new anticoagulant drugs from biodiversity

Her recent research demonstrates a strong focus on the molecular mechanisms underlying exercise adaptation, particularly examining how physical activity affects redox status, gene expression, and cellular function. She has conducted both in vivo studies with human subjects and in vitro studies with muscle cells in culture.

Dr. Roberta serves in several academic capacities including as a Member of the LM67 Quality Assurance Group and the L22 Review Group, demonstrating her active role in academic governance and quality assurance within her institution.
