Dr. Cathy Sigmund, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist, educator, and minister currently serving as an Adjunct Professor in the MA in Counseling Program at Crown College and a Visiting Professor in the Department of Psychology and Counseling at Bishop Stuart University, Mbarara, Uganda. She also holds leadership roles as Executive Director of RAIN (Refugee and Immigrant Network) of The Alliance and Chaplain for Refugee Care Ministries at Allegheny Center Alliance Church in Pittsburgh, PA.
- Education: M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University
Dr. Sigmund specializes in culturally congruent behavioral health services for ethnic minorities, refugees, and underserved populations. Her work integrates crisis/trauma counseling, multicultural counseling, international psychology, and faith-based interventions. She has collaborated with local and global public health entities to design community wellness initiatives and co-edited the Wells of Refuge: Welcoming Devotional Bible.
