Cathy Kean

Cathy Kean is an Instructor in the Faculty of Business at the University of New Brunswick (UNB), located in Saint John. She holds a Bachelor of Science from UNB and a Master of Science in Income Taxation from Golden Gate University. With certifications as a Chartered Accountant (1989) and Certified Public Accountant (USA, 2000), she has extensive professional experience in public accounting at "Big 4" firms and currently works at the Canada Revenue Agency's International and Large Business Directorate since 2005. She also serves as an online Facilitator for CPA Atlantic.

Her expertise spans taxation, international business, and accounting practices. Cathy has completed parts 1 and 2 of the CICA's In-depth Tax Program, reflecting her specialization in tax-related fields.

Professionally, she contributes to community organizations such as the Kingston Soccer Club, Touchstone Community School, and the Canadian Women's Association in Lima, Peru. She has held board roles with the Kingston Farmers Market, Greater Saint John Community Foundation, and St Vincent's Alumnae Association, demonstrating her commitment to community development.
