Cathryn Davies is a PhD Candidate and Sessional Tutor in English Literature at Keele University's School of Humanities. Her research examines how sexology theories influenced modernist women writers' perspectives on gender, sexuality, and same-sex desire, focusing on authors like Radclyffe Hall, Virginia Woolf, and Djuna Barnes. She completed a first-class honours degree in English Literature at Staffordshire University (2016) and a Master's by Negotiated Study (Distinction) before joining Keele in 2021.
Teaching roles include sessional instruction for courses such as 'Culture and Barbarism: Literature in the Victorian Age' (2021/22) and 'Romanticisms' (2022/23). She is supervised by Dr Rebecca Bowler and Dr Jonathon Shears and has contributed to academic service as a committee member of the Keele Humanities and Social Sciences Work in Progress Seminar Series (2021–2022). Cathryn was awarded the Bob Beattie Postgraduate Recognition Award (2022) for her contributions to the postgraduate community.
