Catherine Morel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication, Culture & Languages at Audencia Business School, where she has been a faculty member since 2013. Previously, she developed a 20-year academic career at British universities including Strathclyde, Sheffield Hallam, and Kingston University. Her professional journey includes significant leadership roles such as Director of the Msc Management and Entrepreneurship in the Creative Economy program (2016-2019) and Head of Marketing Bachelor Courses (2021-2022).
Professor Morel's research focuses on the intersection of art and business, particularly examining corporate patronage of the arts beyond public relations motivations. Her work explores why private companies support arts and cultural institutions, and has expanded to include entrepreneurs in cultural and creative industries. With four years of experience as head of the marketing department at Sotheby's Institute of Art in London, she brings practical insights into the contemporary art market to her academic work.
