Catherine Milne is a Professor of Science Education at New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. She holds a position in the Department of Teaching and Learning, focusing on science education's intersection with history, material culture, and socio-cultural dynamics. Her work emphasizes how material objects and historical contexts shape scientific understanding and pedagogy.
Dr. Milne's research explores the role of material culture in teaching, socio-cultural dimensions of science learning, and the history of science as a classroom tool. She authored *The Invention of Science: Why History of Science Matters for the Classroom* (2011) and co-edited influential volumes like *Sociocultural Studies and Implications for Science Education* (2015) and *Material Practice and Materiality* (2019). She serves as co-Editor-in-Chief of the journal *Cultural Studies of Science Education* and co-editor of two book series with Springer Nature and Brill Sense Publishers.
