Catherine MacKenzie is a Professor of Art History at Concordia University, affiliated with the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema. She holds a PhD from the University of Toronto (1984), specializing in eighteenth-century French architectural theory. Her research focuses on racism in art history, expatriate production by American and British women in early twentieth-century China, and the roles of German-Jewish collectors under Nazi cultural policies. She curated the exhibition Auktion 392: Reclaiming the Galerie Stern, Dusseldorf, which traveled internationally from 2006 to 2011.
Administrative roles include Chair of the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema (2001–2004).
