Catherine H. Niu

Catherine H. Niu is a Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan's College of Engineering, affiliated with the Division of Biomedical Engineering. She holds a B.Eng., M.Eng., and Ph.D. in related fields.

• Biopesticide Production: Focuses on cost reduction and controlled release through biosorption/adsorption technologies.
• Fuel Bio-alcohols: Develops biomaterials for energy-efficient dehydration processes.
• Wastewater Treatment: Researches biosorbents for industrial effluent treatment and metal recovery.
• Drug Delivery: Explores biochemical loading and controlled release using nanomaterials and environment-responsive microgels.
