Catherine G. McLaughlin

Catherine G. McLaughlin is a Professor in the Department of Health Management and Policy at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She is also a Senior Fellow and Director of the Ann Arbor Office at Mathematica Policy Research.

Dr. McLaughlin's research focuses on health economics, with a particular emphasis on health insurance coverage, employer and employee benefit choice, barriers to access, and health information technology. Her work also addresses managed care, market competition, and the uninsured population. She has led studies on prescription drug cost-sharing, disparities in health outcomes, and the impact of health insurance reforms.

Her recent publications analyze topics such as racial disparities in heart failure treatment, asthma outcomes in children with equal access to care, and socioeconomic barriers to health access for the uninsured. These works span disciplines including health policy, health equity, and health economics.
