Catherine Chronaki

Catherine Chronaki is a computer engineer affiliated with ISCTE - University Institute of Lisbon through the Iscte Business School. She has held leadership roles in major European digital health initiatives, including serving as President of the European Federation for Medical Informatics (2020-2022) and Secretary General of HL7 Foundation. Her work focuses on advancing international patient summary standards and eHealth standardization roadmaps.

Her research interests span medical informatics, digital health infrastructure, and health data standardization, with over 100 publications in these areas.

Chronaki has been instrumental in shaping European eHealth policies through her decade-long involvement (2013-2022) in the European Commission's eHealth Stakeholders Group and her leadership in HL7 International (2008-2012).
