Catharine West

Professor Catharine West chairs Radiation Biology at the University of Manchester, where she established the Translational Radiobiology Group. Her research predicts radiotherapy responses through biomarkers of tumor hypoxia and genetic radiosensitivity. She co-founded the international Radiogenomics Consortium identifying genetic determinants of treatment toxicity.

Professor West leads multiple national/international studies including RAPPER and REQUITE, developing predictive models for personalized radiotherapy. Her group combines molecular profiling with clinical data to optimize radiation dosing while minimizing healthy tissue damage.
