Caterina Scoglio is University Distinguished Professor and Paslay Chair Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Kansas State University. She directs the Network Science and Engineering (NetSE) Group and holds the Steve Hsu Keystone Research Scholar position.
Professor Scoglio's research develops network-based theoretical frameworks with applications in infectious disease modeling and critical infrastructure security. Her significant contributions include the Generalized Epidemic Model Framework (GEMF) for simulating spreading processes, with applications to COVID-19, African swine fever, and Rift Valley fever.
Professor Scoglio has secured over $15 million in research funding from NSF, USDA, DOD, and DOE. She serves as Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering and received the Frankenhoff Outstanding Research Award (2016), Engineering Distinguished Researcher Award (2021), and Commerce Bank Distinguished Graduate Faculty award (2021-2022).
