Catelyn Slayback Lowell is a Lecturer in the Genetic Counseling Graduate Program at the University of Arizona and a genetic counselor at Natera. She teaches Introduction to Genetic Counseling and Reproductive Genetic Counseling. Her expertise includes prenatal genetic testing and qualitative research on healthcare experiences.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology (with a minor in Africana Studies) from the University of Arizona in 2017, followed by a Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2020, graduating with High Honors.
Her research focuses on genetic counselors’ perspectives on noninvasive prenatal testing for microdeletions, supported by grants from NSGC and the Becky and Tom Butler Endowment. She has held leadership roles in student government and interprofessional education initiatives.
Catelyn actively engages in professional service, including roles on the College of Health Professions Student Advisory Board. Outside academia, she enjoys影视娱乐, dining, reading, and social activities.
