Cate Marvin is a Professor of English at the College of Staten Island, City University of New York (CUNY), and a faculty member of the Stonecoast MFA in Creative Writing program at the University of Southern Maine. Her academic career includes teaching creative writing at Colby College and M.F.A. programs at Columbia University and Lesley University’s Low-Residency M.F.A. Program. She holds a Ph.D. in English and Comparative Literature from the University of Cincinnati, an M.F.A. in Fiction Writing from the Iowa Writer’s Workshop, an M.F.A. in Poetry from the University of Houston, and a B.A. in Writing and Literature from Marlboro College.
