Catarina Rosado

Catarina Rosado is an Associate Professor at the School of Health Sciences and Technologies, Universidade Lusófona, and leads the Formulation Strategies and Nanosolutions laboratory at CBIOS - Research Center for Biosciences & Health Technologies. With a PhD in Pharmaceutical Technology from Cardiff University, she collaborates with Portuguese and international universities.

Her research focuses on transdermal drug delivery systems, lipid biomaterials, and nutrition-skin interactions. She develops non-invasive in vivo strategies for assessing topical formulation efficacy and safety, with recent work on nanoparticle photoprotection and entourage effect in cannabis products.

Article Trends show expertise in nanoscale excipients, oxidative stress mitigation, and rare skin condition management. Her work spans dermal drug delivery, antioxidant formulations, and sustainable bioactive compounds.

Supervision includes mentoring multiple MSc and PhD students in transdermal formulation research. Collaborations extend to Portugal, Spain, Serbia, and Brazil, with grants from Erasmus+ and FCT.
