Cassaundra Rodriguez

Cassaundra Rodriguez is an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts. Her research focuses on Latinx communities, immigration, family dynamics, and racial/gender inequalities, specifically examining how mixed-status families negotiate belonging amidst anti-immigrant policies. She teaches courses on family, gender, and Latinx studies and has received multiple awards for her scholarship and teaching, including the UNLV College of Liberal Arts William Morris Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Her current project investigates student mariachi programs in Las Vegas, analyzing their impact on educational pathways and community belonging. Dr. Rodriguez is also engaged in public sociology through platforms like Medium and Latinx Talk.
