Dr Cassandra Yuill is a medical anthropologist at the Centre for Maternal and Child Health Research, City St George's, University of London. Her work focuses on maternal health and maternity services in the UK.
- PhD in Medical Anthropology (City, University of London, 2016–2019)
- MSc in Anthropology (Durham University, 2012–2013)
- BA in Anthropology (University of Maryland, College Park, 2008–2011)
Her research examines the cultural, social, and experiential dimensions of maternity care, including topics such as:
- Place of birth and birth practices
- Parent-infant sleep patterns
- Ultrasound scanning in prenatal care
- Midwifery-led care models
- Perinatal mental health
Cassandra is actively involved in translating social science insights into evidence-based maternity policy and practice. She is a member of the European Association of Social Anthropologists and fluent in French.
