Cassandra Haines is a part-time Lecturer in Optometry at Flinders University's College of Nursing and Health Sciences. She supervises clinical work at the Flinders Health2GO clinic and teaches paediatric optometry, contact lenses, and research in the "Optometry 1" Master's subject.
Her research focuses on children's vision screening, particularly developing evidence-based protocols through the Children's Eye Screening SA (CESSA) program. This aligns with expertise in clinical practice guidelines, myopia management, and vision testing.
Externally, she serves as South Australia's Optometry Lead for Optometry Australia and previously held a board role at Optometry Vic/SA (until 2023). Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being.
