Casper Van den Bossche

Casper Van den Bossche is a Junior Researcher and PhD student at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), based at the Brussels Health Campus and affiliated with the End-of-life research center. He conducts research under the European Research Council (ERC)-funded TRAJECT project supervised by Prof. Lara Pivodic, focusing on quantitative analysis of end-of-life trajectories in elderly populations with serious chronic diseases.

His academic background includes:

• Master of Arts in Neuropsychology and Cognitive Development, Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), 2023. Research examined brain functioning and dementia as a natural process in the human lifespan under Prof. Lara Pivodic's supervision.

Research interests center on end-of-life care for chronically ill elderly, dementia progression, neuropsychological aging mechanisms, and cognitive development in later life. His current ERC-funded work analyzes health trajectory patterns to improve palliative interventions for aging populations with complex chronic conditions.
