Casey Beck is a Teaching Professor of Practice and Program Director of Digital Media Practices at Tulane University's School of Liberal Arts, specializing in documentary filmmaking addressing environmental and social justice issues. Her work includes award-winning films such as Smells Like (2022) and The Great Divide (2020), which investigate water contamination and public health crises. She has collaborated with organizations like Public Health Watch and Amnesty International, contributing to investigative reports that influenced policy discussions. Beck’s films have screened at prestigious festivals including Cinequest, Mill Valley, and the Hamptons Film Festival.
Her career spans over 15 years, with notable works like The Organic Life (2013) exploring sustainable agriculture and Ballplayer: Pelotero (2011), a New York Times Critics’ Pick. Currently, she is developing a docuseries titled Change Makers about climate activists. Beck’s accolades include a Fulbright Scholarship in Argentina and the Edward R. Murrow Award (2022).
