Prof. Dr. Carsten Theiss is a principal investigator affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at Ruhr University Bochum, where he leads research in the Department of Cytology at the Institute of Anatomy. His work focuses on the neuroprotective properties of steroid hormones and VEGF across multiple nervous system compartments (CNS, PNS, ENS) in conditions like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, ALS, stroke, and ischemia.
