Carrie Dyck

Carrie Dyck is Associate Professor at Memorial University, affiliated with the Department of Linguistics in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. She holds a B.A. from the University of Saskatchewan and M.A./Ph.D. from the University of Toronto.

Her research focuses on phonology, Cayuga (Iroquoian) linguistics, and phonetic analysis. She has contributed to documenting Cayuga through grammars and dictionaries and analyzed phonological phenomena in Algonquian languages (e.g., vowel merger in East Cree, syncope patterns).

Publications include studies on metrical opacity in language acquisition, wordhood in polysynthetic languages, and collaborative linguistic resources like English-Cayuga dictionaries.
