Carrie Daymont

Carrie Daymont, MD, MSCE is an Associate Professor at Penn State University with dual appointments in the Department of Pediatrics (Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine) and Department of Public Health Sciences. Her work focuses on improving the use of pediatric and adult anthropometric data for research, quality improvement, and public health evaluation.

• Developed growthcleanr, an R package for identifying implausible weight and height values in large datasets
• Research spans head growth abnormalities, growth in children with congenital heart disease, and clinical impact of growth curves
• Collaborated on vital sign reference percentiles adopted across multiple children's hospitals

Research Trends combine data science with pediatric clinical care, particularly in anthropometric data quality, growth monitoring for rare diseases, and socioeconomic factors affecting child development. Recent articles emphasize adiposity screening, neurodevelopmental differences, and vital sign standardization.

As Director of Grand Rounds and co-chair of Pediatric Research Day, Dr. Daymont integrates patient/family-centered care into clinical teaching. She leads the Assessment of Pediatric Anthropometric Data Quality project (2024–2028) funded by PCORI.
