Carrie Bruce is a Principal Research Scientist at the Georgia Institute of Technology, affiliated with the School of Interactive Computing and the Institute for People and Technology (IPaT). With over 25 years of expertise in healthcare, rehabilitation, human-computer interaction (HCI), accessibility, and inclusive design, she focuses on technology and information design that addresses person-environment interactions. As the Assistant Director and Research Manager for the MS-HCI program, she teaches UX research methods, accessibility, universal design, and interactive product development.

Her work examines design issues relative to individual abilities and develops methodologies to measure how physical and social environments influence activity and participation. Dr. Bruce's research spans sectors including international accessibility initiatives, assistive technology for cognitive impairments, and real-time environmental interpretation systems. She contributes to frameworks for workplace accommodation and dementia care communication environments.
