Carrie Ann Russpatrick is a Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oslo’s Department of Media and Communication, affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities. Her research focuses on Screen Cultures, Media Aesthetics, and intersectional theories including Feminist, Postcolonial, and Posthuman Theory. She holds a PhD candidate position and explores monsters in media as tools for theorizing gender and the body, particularly through her work on 'vulva monsters.'

Research Interests: Her interdisciplinary work bridges public health activism and humanities scholarship. Key themes include the gendered monstrous in screen media, posthumanism, and the theoretical potential of monsters to disrupt cultural norms. She has developed a typology analyzing vulva monsters across humanoid, animal, and alien forms to critique patriarchal systems.
