Carolyn Dillon is Associate Professor in Medicinal Chemistry at University of Wollongong. She designs selective anti-cancer drugs, particularly arsenic-based compounds targeting specific cancers.
Research focuses on tumor-targeted arsenic therapies and bismuth anti-inflammatories. Uses synchrotron techniques to study drug interactions at molecular level. Currently collaborating with pharmaceutical industry to evaluate drug efficacy.
Coordinates UOW's Medicinal Chemistry degree. Recent publications demonstrate arsenic compounds' effectiveness against pancreatic cancer and leukemia cells.
Secured multiple grants for equipment and synchrotron access. Supervises PhD students in cancer therapeutic development.
