Carolyn Adams is an Assistant Professor at Husson University's School of Legal Studies within the College of Business. She holds a JD from the University of Maine School of Law and a BA in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University. Her professional background includes roles as a prosecutor and defense attorney in civil and criminal litigation, with notable experience in child protection units and tribal law. She has argued cases before the Maine Supreme Court and Penobscot Nation Court of Appeals, notably In re: Matthew W., which set legal precedents in parental rights.
Her advocacy and community involvement include serving on the Maine Judicial Children’s Task Force, Penobscot County Bar Association board, and Bangor’s Shaw House Teen Homeless Shelter board. She received the Guardian Ad Litem of the Year award (2008) for child protection work. Additionally, she has taught legal courses as an adjunct professor at Beal College, Colby College, and Husson University, emphasizing critical thinking and ethical responsibility in the judicial process.
