Caroline Sleeper

Caroline Sleeper serves as a Distance Learning Instructor in the Department of Geosciences at Mississippi State University, where she is also an alumna having earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees.

Ms. Sleeper's research centers on aviation meteorology with specialized focus on weather-flight delay relationships. Her master's thesis "Analysis of weather-related flight delays at 13 United States airports from 2004 - 2019 using a time series and support vector regression" demonstrates advanced application of statistical modeling to aviation meteorology challenges. This work provides critical insights for improving air traffic management during adverse weather conditions. Prior to her academic appointment, she gained practical experience in the New Orleans metropolitan area applying meteorological expertise to disaster recovery operations, specifically addressing post-storm infrastructure rebuilding and reimbursement processes for municipalities and nonprofit cooperatives.
