Caroline Pegram

Caroline Pegram is a science communication specialist and AI innovator with over two decades of industry experience, currently serving as Head of Tech & Innovation at SXSW Sydney (2023). Her academic engagement includes a Visiting Fellowship at the University of New South Wales and significant collaboration with the Australian National University's School of Cybernetics on the 'Australian Cybernetic' exhibition. Previously, she spent 20 years producing content for Dr Karl Kruszelnicki and served as Innovation & Strategy Director at Uncanny Valley (2017-2023), where she forged global AI partnerships.

Her research centers on the nexus of artificial intelligence, creativity, and public science communication. She pioneers AI-driven augmentation of musical expression—exemplified by her 2020 global AI Song Contest victory—and examines technology's societal evolution through historical lenses like the 'Australian Cybernetic' project. This work integrates machine learning with artistic processes while translating complex concepts for broad audiences.
